Frequently asked questions
What is Onboard Events?
We are Onboard Events, a specialist corporate and leisure events agency that brings people together on the water. Unlike traditional charter companies, we don't own the boats. Instead, we work with a trusted network of professional skippers, boat operators, and suppliers to deliver unforgettable sailing and powerboating experiences. We handle every detail, from sourcing the right vessels to planning the itinerary, arranging catering, branding, and hospitality, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day. Think of us as your event partner on the water: you focus on your guests, while we manage the logistics. With years of experience in team-building days, client hospitality events, and private celebrations, we design every event around your goals, whether it's motivating your team, impressing clients, or simply enjoying a day of adventure on the Solent.
What is the duration of a typical event?
Our events can be half-day, full-day, or multi-day. We will help you choose the format that best suits your team's goals and schedule.
Where do your events take place?
Most of our events run in the Solent — a world-class sailing venue between the Isle of Wight and the south coast of England. Other locations are available on request.
Exactly locations can be discussed to suit your requirements.
Do you operate year-round?
Yes, but the busiest season is from April to October. Winter sailing is possible, though we recommend smaller groups due to weather conditions.
How many people can you accommodate on one boat/event?
We can host up to 9 guests per RIB or up to 10 per yacht. For larger groups, we run multi-boat events so everyone can take part together. There is not a maximum of people that we can accommodate on a single event.
What is included in a corporate sailing event package?
Our packages typically include exclusive use of a skippered yacht or RIB, all safety equipment and fuel. Depending on your booking, we can also arrange catering, branded merchandise, race management, and photography.
