We specialise in professionally run sailing and on-the-water events that are accessible to everyone—no prior experience required. From the first enquiry to the final debrief, we handle the planning, logistics, and safety so our clients can relax and enjoy the experience. Our Story
Our story starts with a passion for being on the water and an understanding of the positive effects the being on the water can have.
Through our sail training and charter company, Salty Sailing Ltd, we’ve spent the last few years running sailing experiences for individuals, families, and small groups. Every day, we see what sailing does for people. It builds confidence, brings people together, and gives them space to switch off from the day-to-day. People arrive as strangers, and leave more relaxed, more connected, and usually smiling.
Alongside this, we started hosting small-scale corporate sailing days on our own boat. Well-run, enjoyable days out for teams and clients. But the response was better than we expected. Businesses could see the difference it made. Teams communicated better. Clients connected more naturally. It wasn’t just “a nice day out” — it actually worked.
Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships across the local sailing community and shoreside hospitality sector. We know the skippers. We know the boats. We know the harbours, the restaurants, the functions spaces and the hotels. Combine that with our links into the corporate world, and the idea for Onboard Events became pretty obvious.
Rather than keeping these experiences small and limited to our own boat, we decided to build an agency that could offer the same quality of experience at scale. Onboard Events brings together trusted boats, experienced crews, and deep local knowledge to deliver professional, safe, and genuinely enjoyable on-the-water events for businesses.
We’re not an events company that happens to use boats. We’re a sailing business at heart, applying what we know works on the water to corporate teams and client events.
