Caution & Risk Acknowledgement – Sailing & Powerboating Activities

 

Participation in sailing and powerboating activities involves being on open water and may include exposure to varying weather conditions, sea states, and vessel movement. While every reasonable precaution is taken by Salty South Coast Events and our professional skippers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, guests should be aware that these activities carry inherent risks.

By taking part in the sailing yachts and RIB (powerboat) activities, guests acknowledge and accept that:

• Boats may move unpredictably due to wind, waves, and passing vessel wash.

• There is a risk of slips, trips, and falls while moving around the deck or transferring between vessels and pontoons.

• Participants may be exposed to spray, cold, wind, and changing weather conditions.

• Powerboat (RIB) travel can involve higher speeds and impact with waves, which may be physically demanding for some individuals.

 

Guests are required to:

• Follow all instructions given by skippers and crew at all times.

• Wear any safety equipment provided, including lifejackets, when instructed to do so.

• Advise the event team in advance of any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns that may affect their ability to participate safely.

• Wear suitable clothing and footwear for marine conditions (non-slip footwear is strongly recommended).

Participation is at the individual’s own risk. Guests who are pregnant, have back, neck, joint issues, or other medical conditions should seek medical advice prior to participating in powerboat transfers and high-speed RIB activities.

Onboard Events reserves the right to modify the itinerary or activities on the day in the interest of safety, taking into account weather, sea conditions, and the wellbeing of guests.
